Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, many things have changed in the way us Earthlings live. Shopping with masks, social distancing, and many more practices that used to be mundane are now just different. Due to these reasons and other considerations, Creation Entertainment announced today that the 19th Annual Star Trek Las Vegas Convention will take place on December 9-13, 2020.
The original date for this most-popular of Trek gatherings was originally scheduled to be for August 5-9, 2020 at the Rio All-Suites Resort and Casino.
The brand new Caesars Forum Conference Center Las Vegas will host the event, and guests can stay at the newly renovated Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.
William Shatner, Walter Koenig, Kelsey Grammer have all been confirmed to appear at the December rescheduled date, and and more guests have confirmed the new date, and Creation Entertainment will release the names of all the stars who will participate in the coming weeks and months on their official convention webpage.
For those who are not familiar, or wonder why Kelsey Grammer would appear at a Trek convention, here’s a reminder. Grammer, who is best known for his portrayal of the character Frasier Craine on both Cheers and the show Frasier, appeared on the Star Trek: The Next Generation, in the fifth season episode called “Cause and Effect.”
Creation says that fans who had tickets to the Star Trek Las Vegas August date, do not need to take any new action. This includes a la carte autograph and photo op tickets. Those tickets and seating will be transferred to the new date and updated tickets will be issued in a few weeks. The original tickets for the August dates will no longer be valid.
Creation advises that all attendees cancel their hotel reservations at this time, and that they will released revised booking information shortly.
The company notes that if you’re not able to attend STLV in December, and you need a refund, please contact [email protected]. The deadline for Creation to issue refund requests is June 19, 2020.
Fans had been confused by communication that Creation released during the pandemic, which seemed to lead people to believe that the convention would go on, despite the situation. MORE ON THAT HERE.
